Enjoy the splendour of the third largest Canyon in the world. Unquestionably being the largest ‘green canyon’ due to its lush Subtropical foliage. An interpretation tour by a tour guide will take you to the you to the rare living Kadishi Tufa waterfall and the Three Rondawels. An abundance of wildlife will keep you distracted while learning more about the natural history of the Blyde Canyon.
The Blyde River canyon supports large diversity of life, including numerous fish and antelope species as well as Hippos and Crocodiles, primate species and a diversity of birdlife such as the African Fish Eagle, African Finfoot and much more.
Possibly the best view in the whole of the Blyde River Canyon is of the “Three Rondavels”, huge, round rocks, thought to be reminiscent of the houses or huts of the indigenous people, known as rondavels. The Canyon is famous for the Kadishi Tufa waterfall. At 200m (around 660 feet) in height it is the second tallest Tufa waterfall on earth. In the case of the Kadishi Tufa fall, the formation that has been produced strikingly resembles a face which is crying profusely, and is thus sometimes known as the weeping face of nature.

We do not provide or sell snacks or beverages on board. Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy during the cruise.

A s much as it was not my first time experience, but every moment always feels so special from the arrivals to the start and the end of the trip the stuff is always welcoming and friendly, the standard of their hospitality is top notch and that one of the key factors that makes the space so special. The vast of knowledge that the guides have to the terrain and diversity of the area always teaches us something new about the area. it outlines all the cultural and heritage side from the three roundavells as this forms part of our history and that reminds us that there were people before us within the space who are our forefathers/ancestors they conserved and sustained the space for us as the future generation. yet today we get to experience the very same biodiverse space. your effort, dedication and commitment to continue to sustain and conserve the space never go unnoticed. As for our learners from Shobiyana and Masingitan high school it was a blast of s life changing experience. they reside right next to the area hence they never get the opportunity to get this kind of experience. I had a great experience on the boat cruise. I really enjoyed the instructor's presentation/explanation. He was audible, enthusiastic and engaging. The different parts of the canyon, the history of it was really eye opening. We had time to pause/slow down midway to be told about that section of the canyon. The boat was moving at the normal speed as well. Proper and memorable experience we had. - Senele
